CYPRUS ADVOCATES IDENTITY CARD IS CCBE (COUNCIL OF BARS AND LAW SOCIETIES OF EUROPE) IDENTITY CARD SINCE 2025

Cyprus and other member states advocates are EU advocates officially recognized and entitled to practice law (judicial and extrajudicial) in another member states in accordance with the Section IIIA of the Cyprus Advocates Law, CAP. 2 and similar laws of the EU member states.
The CBA announced that, following a relevant agreement with the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), of which the Cyprus Bar Association has been a member since 2004, the Cyprus advocates’ identity cards for 2025 will bear the CCBE insignia on one side.
The CCBE identity card, established in 1978, facilitates access for European lawyers to courts and other institutions outside their jurisdiction, while identifying the lawyer in the official languages ​​of the CCBE (French and English). The CCBE identity card is also officially recognised by the Court of Justice of the European Union and the General Court (EGC).
